Carmen, Team Leader and Mechanical Designer, Brașov, Romania

Carmen works as a Team Leader and Mechanical Designer at Comatec Romania’s office in Brașov. Her education is Master of Science in industrial robotics from Transilvania University of Brașov.

Her key role is as a Mechanical Designer for one of the Group’s biggest clients for the maritime industry where she has been employed since 2010.

“I’m designing waste and water management systems for cruise ships. My responsibilities include integrating new components into existing systems, modifying units to meet client specifications, and maintaining operational units. As a team leader, I ensure tasks are assigned based on each member’s strengths, monitor work quality, and maintain clear communication with both the team and the client to uphold high standards”, Carmen says.

Furthermore, her responsibilities have expanded to working also as an Office Manager. She’s in charge of handling communications between legal entities in Romania and for example with the financial department of Comatec Group.

Carmen’s career includes also big changes. The new challenges offered by the Group have provided her opportunities for personal and professional growth.

“Since 2004, I have been providing remote support for Finland-based operations. Initially, I worked for a small company until 2019, when we were acquired by Comatec and transitioned into a larger corporate structure. During this shift, my primary focus was adapting to new corporate policies, compliance requirements, and processes—particularly in close coordination with the Group’s financial department and HR to ensure seamless integration”, Carmen says.

Carmen has a solid experience of working at Comatec and she has been the driving force behind the Comatec Romania office, which offers a wide and skilled pool of designers to its customers. The Romanian branch serves Finnish and international clients in collaboration with Comatec’s experts in Finland, bringing the advantages of extensive experience, superb quality, and competitive pricing.

“Over the years, we have built a strong and cohesive team in our Romania office. Additionally, collaborating with colleagues from Finland has been a rewarding experience, fostering cross-cultural exchange and fresh perspectives. We all are committed to maintaining and enhancing standards to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”
