Our competence and educational backgrounds are diverse, and we at Comatec are also of very different ages. With us, younger experts can develop alongside more experienced ones. We measure and strive to reduce the negative environmental impact of our operations. We have been measuring our own environmental impact by estimating the greenhouse gas emissions of the Group’s operations in Finland, the largest country in terms of turnover and number of employees, for a few years now. For the first time, we measured the greenhouse gas emissions of all Comatec Group’s operating countries for 2024 in accordance with the GHG protocol for scope 1-2, as well as scope 3 for material items. We are developing processes related to the identification and measurement of emissions from our own operations to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the ways in which we can influence our environmental impacts in the future.In the development of our sustainability work, it is important for us to know the operations of our own supply chains and to deepen our understanding of sustainability themes. Correspondingly, when we act as part of our stakeholders’ value chains, we take our responsibility and support the achievement of our shared sustainability goals.
Towards a more sustainable industry in our daily work
Our most significant impact on the environment and climate change mitigation is achieved through the everyday work of our experts and the mechanical engineering and automation design work we do for our customers.
The environmental impacts of capital goods can be influenced through planning. We take the environment into account in product and service design and help our customers make sustainable choices. With our services, we support the use of cleaner technology in industry. With our expertise, we can do our part to support our customers in achieving the sustainability goals they have set for their own business. We want to be part of building a more sustainable industry through modernisations and innovations related to our industry, increasing our customers’ carbon handprint.
We support our customers in managing environmental issues and improving the level of environmental protection by means of environmental management and circular economy, among other things. Electrification, automation solutions, energy-efficient choices, cyber security and the circular economy are a natural part of our work in a rapidly changing industrial environment. In our design work, we consider energy and material efficiency, maintainability, longevity and low emissions, as well as the possibilities of reducing the environmental load of the planned site throughout its life cycle. Whistleblow – reporting channel for suspected misconduct
Comatec’s companies will use the Whistleblow Channel service with the entry into force of the so-called Whistleblow Directive. The Whistleblow channel is for reporting detected misconduct. You can file a report if you suspect that a crime or misconduct has taken place in our company, or if any other activity has violated our company’s Code of Conduct. Reports can also be submitted anonymously. Every report is treated with the highest level of confidentiality. We are committed to safeguarding the identity of the whistleblower, the person concerned, and anyone else involved.
