Ferrometal Clever

Ferrometal Clever is a unique Finnish innovation that optimizes internal and small accessory logistics and is effortlessly scalable for different uses. Clever enables a fully automated order and supply chain. The system determines the number of products/components in a bin or on a shelf and places orders automatically on this basis.

Starting points and objectives:

  • the customer’s product/service idea was developed with Comatec’s experts
  • the goal was to find functional and cost-effective technological solutions
  • building a prototype as early as possible to meet the needs of the technology and the customer’s marketing
  • in addition to expertise in electronics, embedded and cloud programming, the project also required competence in design and mechanics

Results and benefits:

  • the development of the service prototype gave the customer the opportunity to move forward on the commercial side at a very early stage
  • sensor devices suitable for the applications were designed for the customer
  • the Clever user interface was built to be browser-based step by step based on the customer’s wishes
  • Comatec handled the challenges of equipment manufacturing and deliveries together with contract manufacturers
  • the system is able to produce truly sustainable added value through a real-time, transparent and predictive solution while also optimizing the value of the inventory reliably and without product shortages
