Finnferries, Innamo

The latest ferry of Finnferries, Innamo, operates in the Turku Archipelago. The ferry operates daily between the Nauvo main island and Seili, Innamo (giving the ferry its name), Ahvensaari (known for the old limestone quarry) and three other islands. The ferry began to operate on 1 May 2023. The ferry’s nitrogen emissions are low thanks to the urea-utilizing catalyst, so the vessel complies with the Tier III emissions of the IMO. The vessel was built at the Oy HL-Metal Ab shipyard in Parainen. Comatec implemented the electrical designs for all systems of the vessel. Follow the ferry here.

Starting point and goals:

  • Very fast timetable (construction period less than 12 months)
  • The plan was to complete the electrical designs required for the construction to Oy HL-Metal Ab.
  • Comatec was responsible for the electrical designs of all systems, and assisting in the acquisition of electrical systems.

Results and benefits:

  • Comatec has extensive electrical design experience of a variety of vessel types and classification regulations, which could be used in all systems of the ship.
  • Comatec’s assistance in the acquisition of electrical systems reduced the project’s overall costs.
  • The vessel was completed in time despite the tight schedule.

Main dimensions of the vessel:

  • Length 29.4 metres
  • Width 7.8 metres
  • Draught 2.2 metres
  • Deadweight 25 tonnes
  • Maximum number of passengers 99
  • Passenger compartment 50 seats
  • Vehicle capacity 8 passenger cars
